Our charity helps Stroke Recoverers who have communication difficulties (This is called "Aphasia", sometimes also known as dysphasia) We run weekly meetings so that members can practise their communication skills in a supportive and sociable environment. We have been running since 1998 and cover a large part of Surrey through our six local groups. Each Recoverer is helped by a Volunteer, usually on a One-to-One basis. Speech and Language Therapists help to train our volunteers. Please explore our site. We have designed it to help everyone seeking assistance in living with aphasia.
Our annual lunch took place on 17th april at the holiday inn, guildford and was attended by a large number of recoverers and volunteers. In addition, mayors and mayoresses from our group areas attended, together with county council representatives.
