Guildford Group Leader Role

Overview

We are currently looking for a Volunteer Group Leader for our Guildford afternoon group, on Tuesday afternoons, term time only.  You will be responsible for the running of this group, will be the main point of contact and deal with incoming and outgoing emails.  You will also be working closely with our stroke members and other volunteers, ensuring that the sessions run smoothly.


Responsibilities & Requirements

  • Admin / Emails
  • Liaise with the Operations Manager and Groups Coordinator regarding the group
  • Attendance and absence
  • Setting up equipment
  • Assigning a volunteer to a stroke member at the start of each session
  • Attending group leader meetings (3 or 4 per year)
  • Attend termly planning meetings
  • Help organise events such as group outings, end of term fetes, Christmas lunch etc.
  • Introductions at the group
  • Guest meet and greet
  • Leading a session


Support/ Training

You will be supported by the other volunteers with most of the above requirements, but you will be the main point of contact and be responsible for the overall running of the group.  You will receive ongoing support by the Operations Manager, the Groups Coordinator and Trustees.

Training is also provided, led by professional speech and language therapists.
