Digging for TALK

Jane Says Goodbye

This month sees the beginning of an advertising campaign to recruit a successor to our coordinator, Jane Langley.

It was last year when Jane announced that she and John, her husband, were moving to Suffolk and, as a result, she would have to cease working for us. However, we managed to obtain a reprieve and in January we were able to say that the departure date had been postponed.

Now Jane and John have made the move and are just about settled in to their new home in Hoxne. Since their move Jane has been making the long journey to Surrey to carry out her TALK duties and has now reached the conclusion that it is time to call a halt.

“The past six years working as TALK coordinator have been marvellous,” said Jane. “It has been a very busy time when TALK has grown out of all recognition. We have opened new groups, the numbers have grown and TALK has become known and respected throughout the county.”

A very great deal of TALK’s success is due in large measure to Jane’s tireless activity. Although we shall greatly miss her she leaves a substantial legacy from which we are all benefiting. The campaign to recruit a replacement is now under way
