Ex-Mayor Joins Talk

During her year of office as Guildford’s mayor in 2009, Jennifer Jordan carried out hundreds, if not thousands, of engagements.

Among them were visits to TALK groups and they made such an impression upon her that she decided to join us when her term of office ended.

So it is that we welcome Jennifer, who has become a volunteer with the Tuesday afternoon group. “I was so impressed by everyone I met when I came to the TALK annual lunch as the Deputy Mayor,” said Coun. Jordan. “I knew that I wanted to do something after my year of office as Mayor. I could have joined any of around 150 organisations quite happily because there is so much wonderful charity work in Guildford but I was deeply impressed by the work of TALK. So I have become a volunteer.”

“We are so pleased to have Jennifer with us,” said Daphne Bell, the group leader. “I know that she will be a real asset.”

HOWEVER - Coun. Jordan is not the only newcomer to the charity.
