Spring at Ashford

The spring term has flown by under the guidance of the new Group Leader Tricia Golding.

The weekly session is planned and themed with the aim of helping the recoverers to practice and build on their communication skills in a supportive, relaxed environment. Each recoverer has a volunteer to help and guide them, which has resulted in a noticeable and rewarding increase in confidence and laughter from all involved.

Our busy term has included talks, slideshows, quizzes, art classes, observation skills, number crunching and musical bingo.

We have had visits from speech therapists, the Mayor and Mayoress of Runnymede and the Mayor and Mayoress of Spelthorne.

Our thanks to Simon Bhadye, Spelthorne Councillor for his donation of £300.00 that has enabled us to buy a portable CD/cassette/radio which we are looking forward to putting to use in the summer term.
