Helping people to communicate after stroke
Since 1998 TALK has been helping stroke recoverers with dysphasia to regain lost skills. Weekly meetings enable members to practise their communication skills in a supportive and sociable environment.

TALK works closely with local speech and language therapists who help to train our volunteers. Each recoverer is helped by a volunteer on a one-to-one basis.

TALK received the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service for 2005, in recognition of the outstanding contribution made by our volunteers

You do not have to do any voluntary work with our stroke recoverers, unless you want to. You will need to be financially, grammatically and computer-literate.
