Peter Walker joined TALK shortly after retiring in 1999, initially as a volunteer at the Guildford morning group. He later became secretary and, in May 2006 became chairman.
Peter hails from the north-east, where he worked as a journalist before moving south following his marriage to Iris in the 1960s. Shortly after that move he joined the staff of the Official Report at the House of Commons, where he remained, in various posts, until retirement.
He has two grown-up daughters, two grand-daughters and three motorcycles of varying vintage.
Peter is also group leader for the Tuesday morning meetings at St. Catherine’s village hall, where his musical and artistic talents are consistently underrated. |
