CELEBRATION LUNCHEON AT NORMANDY

TALK members descended in large numbers upon the splendid village hall at Normandy on Thursday 22nd May for our final anniversary celebration in this, our tenth year.

This took the form of an informal barbecue lunch prepared for us by the experts at Kilfeather and Dumbrill. In a triumph of organisation Philippa Galloway, Jane Langley, Christine Jones and Hazel Steel, with lots of assistance from others, provided us with a day to remember.

To mark the special place that Daphne Bell holds in our organisation she, and Hazel, took part in yet another cake-cutting ceremony – this time there were two, provided by Jan Davis – and Daphne was presented with a bouquet of flowers.

Present at all of the above to capture our celebrations with his camera was David Galloway, to whom we offer special thanks.

The pictures show Daphne receiving her flowers from Chairman, Peter Walker, and the splendid cakes prepared by Jan Davis, The painting seen in the background was donated by Kim Phillips, a local artist, and auctioned at the luncheon. The third picture shows the cake being cut by Daphne Bell, John Lazarus and Hazel Steel
